How do.

Fancy getting all enthused about something that'll probably never happen but want to enjoy talking about it anyway?

Anyone fancy a beano to Margate?

For those that don't know what I'm on about please refer to Only Fools and Horses Christmas episode from 1989 - Video link - where the lads take a day out to Margate, the bus blows up and they can't get back, have to organise their own accomodation etc until a new bus comes to get them the day after

Idea being a bit like Run To The Sun used to be before it was decended on by Saxo boys and ruined it.

I set off from Heaven, stop at Cambridge services on the A14, see if anyone is there to join the cruise, Birchanger Green on M11, Thurrock on M25 and medway on the M2, basically stopping at the services and seeing if anyone is there waiting.
All cruise to Margate where everyone goes their separate ways, find a campsite, there's a few coastal car parks you can park in for a tenner a night if you have your own bog. The place is rammed with Air B&B's if you're that way inclined.
Everyone left to their own devices for the evening, go sit on the King's steps and watch the sunset over the harbour with fish and chips from Petes Fish Factory, whatever you want.

You'll be happy as you get a drive out in your van, you lass will be happy as she can mooch around the shops, kids will be happy with Dreamland (fun fair) and the amusements, you don't have to kip in your van if you don't want or sit with that terrible bore who camped next to you.

All meet up on Sunday morning at Palm bay or something where there's room for everyone to park together for free before buggering off to do what you want.

Loads of cool stuff to do in Thanet and an area that you probably don't give a second thought to.
Also just been fetured in the recent Sam Mendes film "Empire Of Light" and well as being used for filming some parts of "Killing Eve" too as well as one part of Margate being recently voted the 8th coolest place to live in the world by Time Out magazine.

History stuff.

Arts

Music

Plus, all your usual sea sidey kinda stuff.
Loads of nice little restaurants.

Anyone think this is a stupid idea too?
