Good idea si! condence each bus-type in there own section

here's my aircooled T3 pop-top, 1982, 2.0 CU, i'm always doing little jobs on my bus, do all my own paintwork & mechanicals even if i dont know 100% what i'm meant to do as i'm new to vw's & aircooled is a new concept to me! it is'nt perfect by any means or run "at the moment" perfect but it gets me places when i need a break! & her longest trip to date is the west of ireland & back 800miles in total @ 26mpg average!
how it looked when i bought it from tom "top-man" in south west london, i did'nt have the alloys i had it on the oe steels.
http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq8/s12midlandsuk/?action=view&current=d4c5_1.jpg">
check my thread for what i'm up to with it & what it looks like now!

Hi everybody, new user checkng in Big smile

Just got my first camper, a 86' Reimo pop-top. Very solid car, no rust and went straight through MOT with no remarks :)
Engine is the 2.1 WBX and its got 193.000 km on the clock. So far I've cleaned and polished the car inside and out, painted the bumpers and put some new wheels on. Next up is a 50mm lowering kit - can't wait!

Cheers,
Endre - Norway.

I have broken my pop top Cry

Forgot to close latches which hold it down and when I got to about 50mph the front lifted up with a bang and ripped the canvas from the roof. Lucky the whole thing didn't take off.

Have managed a temporary repair with gaffer tape, but next project is to fix it proper.

Anyone know where to buy suitable material ?

Ive only owned him for a few months - first thing I did was clean all the scum off the pop-top roof.  Felt the reward when he was parked on full view of the whole ship with the big boys and their dirty roofs on the ferry.  Those caravan clubbers dont have as much pride as a VW owner!!

This is my 1986 Westy Joker, it's a Wolfsburg Edition with a 2l diesel engine, from a Golf I think.  It's been lowered, not exactly sure how much (30mm?) before I bought it.  Me and the missus have been all over the country in it and we're looking forward to getting to as many shows as we can in the new year.  I've had it 2 years now and I got my mate Gavin from South Coast Kustoms to restore it this summer.  It looked pretty solid on the surface but as the paint was stripped off we found quite a lot of rust.  Anyway it was all welded up and sprayed up in a shade of blue from the new Fiat 500 range.  I've just bought a set of 17in Audi wheels with tires to replace the old wheels but I'm waiting for them to come back from the powder coaters.  The rims will be powder coated gloss black.  I've ordered a new interior from Vanwurks so I'll put that in after Christmas, may need to ask you guys a few questions during the refit as I'm fucking rubbish at electrics, if I manage to set the van on fire during the process I'll post more pics...

Doesn't look as good close up. I had a problem with the paint so only 1 coat of lacquer at the moment so not flattened or polished. The colour is bronze beige mettalic. Canvas is from jk which I have refitted it so looks better than In photo.

Morning all - new fella here, from Cardiff in the Land of my Fathers.  I've got an '81 Autosleeper that I bought a couple of years ago.  I've camped for years on my motorbikes, but the kids were getting to the age that they wanted to come too.  I looked at motorcycle and sidecar combinations, but the War Office wasn't having any of that, so I bought a T3.

And now with Empis and Syncro mirrors fitted: -
