Cool.

Saw a few T5 TDI 4Motion Multivans in Germany. they all seem to have the solid rear sides like panel vans, but with windows in the twin sliders...
Very cool!

maybe in 15 years I can get me one

No, three weeks old.  A cost cutting attempt by VW methinks...  I'll eventually get the whole thing done aftermarket.  The girlfriend wants me to investigate body kits.  I just wanna pay the bloody thing off!!

I've already posted some pics in the T5 section, but, what the hell, I'm so excited at having seen my new 174 for the first time I thought I'd put the same pics on here too.

I loaded it so full of extras that I couldn't justify another 600 for metallic, but I'm glad now as the stone blue looks superb and is quite an unusual colour I think.

Nice Van Mark is it Bilbo?  If not what direction does the roof open?  Interested as I see you have a rear spoiler fitted which is why I think it's Bilbo.

Yes you're right it is a Bilbo conversion but with the Reimo roof fitted instead of Bilbo's side elevating roof (more room with the reimo roof). It hinges at the rear no problem with the rear spoiler. I did go down to see Roger at Torbay a couple of times very close to ordering a conversion from him but in the end opted for the Bilbo's

The wheels look fantastic mate where did you get them and how much for the set ? also what do you lads do about the spare if you go for a bigger set ? . Also interested to know about the sportsline front bumper and lower front spoiler is it one piece or is the spoiler seperate ?

Belated posting of piccies (I got the van back in March 06).

Way up in Northern Norway last July.  The single span sleeping platform is visible.  2 bikes stored in front of it, behind the seats, and below, windsurfing kit, inflatable tandem kayak, BBQ kit, cooking gear and enough food, wine and beer for three weeks.

The van was a star.  Long days at the wheel were a breeze.  The 174 horses pulled like a train and returned 40mpg average.

Got the wheels from http://www.wheelsdirect.com - www.wheelsdirect.com the cost of them with tyres delivered were 1150.00 which I thought was pretty good. I use the original spare as due to the original wheels being 17" the new wheels and tyres rolling radius when calculated work out the same, so not any problems in using the spare. As with regards to the Sportline lower spoiler it is a one piece item though the price is a bit steep really for what it is though it does change the whole look of the van.

Thanks for the reply , at the moment just looking around at different wheels/spoilers etc before doing something with it in the summer ( t28 panel van ). Like the look of your`s and ricks wheels so far and your right that does sound a good price . regards

CREDIT TO YOU MATE DID YOU FIT THE SIDE BARS AND ARE THEY EASY MATE

Posted By: landyspeed
Date Posted: 31 Jan 07 at 19:29

took about three hours with a mate(but we went slow at it), you do have to cut out sections of some of the plastic under trays and didnt want to cut the wrong bits out.

You may want a lift just when you bolt the bars to the plates you have to fix (if they are the cobra ones) or just put an old piece of carpet underneath incase they fall?

not hard at all really just have a few stanley blades or jigsaw and simple spanners/socket sets

If you were nearer I'd give you a hand

Lee, I was going to go the Rangie route - did you have to use adaptors? I did see one at an enduro event though and figured it would be copying so I never! Pleased with mine though.

just popped up to say hi and show my new t5 off, the pics are pants but i will update as i get them from my phone.

I've a whole host of mods planned but need to get over the initial shock of getting the bus.

I'm so happy with it and its a proper joy to get up and go to work in it everyday.
Silly things like the doors actully shut properly first time everytime, and the nice comments i get from my punters about how nice it is to travel in such a good taxi.

The A/C actually works in the back properly and the tipi box works so sweetly, it swallows luggage like a cheap back street pro and you hardly know its there. 8 up, me and luggage and it still pulls the ton.

I spent so much on the wheel chair conversion and little bits(electric doors, lwb, electric rear lock, visibility pack 1,tiptronic, two tone leather) that i cut back on wheels, tinting and nav but there is always time for that.

There is a small vid of the doors working on the night i got it home and the inside during the build at the coach builders.

comments , good or bad please. i view it as constructive critism.

Regards Guy.
