Brakes feel good. Pedal movement is less than before but obviously they're more effective. From memory (I could be wrong here), the 928 MC is 23mm but that could be on pre Brembo caliper cars (928, 928S and 928S2 before Brembos were fitted).

I've managed to get some photos from another SA van which show the holes in the bellhousing aren't used. If you could have a look and see if the 2 large (maybe 20mm i/d) holes in the r/h/s of the bellhousing are open or are used and if they're used... yes please for photos . Cheers Adrian

Lee, Re-Servo... I have a BMW E30 Servo from a 325i which I'm going to use. I'm fairly sure this is the unit which Oettinger fitted. When I get around to fitting it, I'll take photos etc and note down any info modifications needed. I've not heard of using the LT unit...

Oh, I'll be upgrading the rear brakes soon so the LT rear brakes will be coming off. I'd expect they're a worthwhile upgrade on a normal Syncro but on this thing, they're not enough!

The 928S4 that the calipers came from had 16" wheels

True but not on 330mm brake discs! they run 305mm discs.

I've been trying to work out how to use the rear calipers/internal handbrake setup on the van...

Hey Mike,

Do you, by chance, have some photos of your rear arm shocker brackets? I'm quite curious about them. How much air do you think they give you?

Cheers,

Hi Jensen,
I don't have any pics of just the shocker arm brackets but there are a couple of pics which include them.

If you need more, let me know and I'll take a couple of pics and post them up.

It's basically a U-section bracket which is profiled to fit on top of the stock bracket and then welded on.

A note to the moderator 'The Stig'.

Why are you removing photographs from the Limey post?

Either remove the entire post or leave it alone please!!

The photo which keeps being removed is of my caliper adaptors. Why it keeps being removed is beyond me.

If there is a problem with my posts, atleast have the decency to contact me and tell me what that problem is rather than being back handed and just going in and editing my posts.

Very nice power curve. >140bhp @3000-4500rpm.

Here's my take on those 330mm brakes. Needs at least 17" wheels.

Here's a recepy for 280bhp on 2.5TDI if someone is interested:

-Volvo V70 -00 2.5TDI (VW engine, AEL)
-mild performance cam
-HE221W turbo (wastegate)
-3" DP + "free flow" pipe
-big IC + pipes
-Bosio R520 II (7-hole)
-Turbotec live program with 1,8bar boost (<2bar EMP)
-modified clutch with SMF + SRE components

Got about 240bhp, 500Nm.

Changing those Bosio nozzles to DSS Ultime2 was the only mod and it got us to this:

Peak figures are now 281bhp, 594Nm. Gain was through the whole rev area.

With DSS Ultime2 there's less smoke and I bet some 10-15hp more could be achieved with remapping, while smoke would raise the same level it was with RACE2.

With minor mods it should go over 300bhp...

Currently boost is 1,8bar, EMP 2,0bar.

Red line is bhp, green is wheel power in kilowatts (peak 181kW, 246hp).

Current performance (weight ~1700kg):
80-120kmh 2,8s (3rd gear)
100-160kmh 7,0s (4th gear)
100-200kmh 14,0s (4th and 5th gear)

Consumption is about 5,5L/100km containing 30% town, 70% highway.

Times were taken from a video of the dash and those are an average of five takes each.

I was only consulting the build as I have some previous experience of diesels and 2.5TDI in particular.

Some pictures of the build:

If you want more low end grunt, just use smaller turbine size (this was #7 and there's smaller #6 available too).

Hey man!
Limey looks really good!
Is it worth to learn how to open the gearbox and change the gear or do you think it's better to let a professional do that??

Here is is my blog that I started a month ago, right now it's basicaly about roof conversion but soon i will start other themes.
