I only ask as the Caravelle died this afternoon and the wife had to drive home in limp mode today.
The VW Assist guy arrived within 2 hours and traced the fault to a N220 Valve? He is coming back tomorrow with the spare part and hopefully will be ok. Good service in my eyes. Apparently the van was making strange noises after it happened, I drove 150 miles last Saturday and it didnt miss a beat, obviously I was overtaken a few times by much faster vans. |

N220 is the solenoid valve that controls the vacuum operated anti shudder/run on flap on the intake...some are electric not vacuum.

It stops the engine stopping with a thump like diesels sometimes do Kev. Let us know how it goes.
