Greetings. I am scratching my head yet again. I have a CU in the workshop, but I am baffled by the advance and retard system on the 2 litre air cooled. On the central idle control is a vavuum take off, but does it go to the advance side of the distributor or the retard. The same applies that there is a vacuum take off half way up the carburettor on the left, so which side of the distributor does that go to, advance or retard. Lastly, one of those two vacuum outlets go to the air filter, but which one.

I've searched but can't get a clear picture. In my mind, you advance on idle and retard on full throttle, but we also have an idle stabalizer black box to deal with too.

A clear answer would be appreciated. Many thanks, I owe someone a decent beer.
