I bought a cordless desalt jigsaw and the first one would not cut a straight line, the wheel guide behind the blade was out of true and sent it back, the second cut straight.

Better than anything on the market inc Bosch and Makita.

Been using Festo for years but I have to say that their jigsaw isn't a patch on the Bosch GST range, which thankfully I didn't bin.

And remember, a jigsaw isn't a precision tool, thus, an amount of finishing will always be required.

I bought a JCB jigsaw in the sale at B&Q when cutting out the surfaces for the sink and hob.

Very good for the money, and the case it came in had proper hinges and locks, not the moulded plastic crap that breaks sooner or later.

I work for a boat builder and buy quite a lot of jigsaws, for DIY use most known brand stuff is OK but regardless of brand for pro use as a rule of thumb anything under £150 is not going to last, some of our old Bosch saws are expiring slowly after 10 years of cutting everything from stainless to fibreglass but they are 250 quid a pop and the latest models are not as robust or repairable. Erbauer stuff is not too bad for DIY I use quite a few of their machines. My current pick is a £150 De Walt seems to last well on joinery duties as long as the laminate guys or the fitters don't get their hands on them. Best small tool for laminates has got to be the small Makita battery circular saws, seems to be the shipwrights weapon of choice for rapid cabinet making and after hours camper van construction!

I have a de walt jig saw it must be over 10 years old now and its been well used and lent out, still works well cuts straight, you can't get them like that anymore as they changed the range. i bet a used one would still be batter than alot of bronco brands.
