Any guidance on size of tyres i currrntly have 8x 16 wheels but was thinking 15s might be better suited

Used to run 235x85x16 (approx 805mm/31.7" rolling diameter) B F Goodrich on my syncro Doka, loads of choice in this size, or if you're going 15"  30x9.50x15 (approx 762mm/30" rolling dia) is also a popular size.

I'd be really surprised if either of those would fit a non-Syncro Doka with a lift kit.

Our 14" Syncro without lift (higher than a 2WD to begin with) has 215/70 R16 (707mm diameter) on steel rims, and these are pretty snug at full lock but don't touch - the equivalent size in 15" is 215/75 R15 (704mm diameter). You might be able to go bigger with more lift but then you'd be putting your CV joints under strain.

You'd almost certainly need a 16" setup to fit the tyre sizes BeJay has given, which means longer trailing arms and modified wheel arches all around.

Thanks all for the replys
i may lift it slightly . i belive an inch is possible but no more than that. May even just put the stock 2wd springs back in to start with. i currently have 215/55x16 pirelli on 8x16 et 35 merc rims with 10mm spacers on the front which only just clear the wishbone. If i put the rears on the front same size wheel and tyre but are dunlops they rub so i think an alternative set of wheels are called for ( thinner) so will keep an eye out for 15 inch and probably a 215/75 tyre   .

Agreed. Had 235/85 x16s on my syncro 14 & that was v tight.
