More details and 2 videos. For sale 1990 T3 VW Camper Westfalia California Taxed and tested (Sep 19) ready for camping, and in good usable condition. Known and Clik from the reg, this camper was converted from new by the Westfalia company in Germany which was the only company VW authorised to install camper interiors and the California is arguably the most comfortable and well-planned designs built with seating and sleeping up to 4 adults. Externally Clik has original VW big bumpers and side planks, towbar and electrics, filler for the fresh water tank, electric hook-up plug, and has an underslung waste water and LPG tanks. The pop-top works as it should with a zip-out fly screen and comes with a thermal cover to go around the canvas of the pop-top when it’s up which keeps it cool in summer and warm in winter and importantly, stops the kids waking up at dawn. As with some of the Westy conversions this van has the VW double-glazed windows on the side and rear. Clik also has aftermarket badge-less grill and spoiler on the front, smoked front indicators and rear light clusters with VW blenders to clean up the look of the back. It also has wiper arms from an early 90s VW which lay a lot flatter than the originals and clean up the look of the van, I’ve never seen any others like them. I also added a full-length awning rail to the rain channel for easy fitment of drive-away awnings or shelters. The interior is in decent condition and has the original table (can be fitted in the front of rear), cupboards, wardrobe, rock and roll bed in the rear and fold out bed in the roof, 2-ring cooker, sink and tap, leisure battery, cigarette lighter socket in the back for charging the kids and a selection of interior led lights. Both front captains seats swivel and all the arm rests are present and adjustable. There are also a set of bespoke magnetic thermal blinds which make it look like a fish tank inside. The van is equipped with RHD square headlights, VW power steering, JX 1.6 turbo diesel engine and it drives beautifully. The mileage is currently 356632km though this will change as it’s still my daily driver. As Clik is originally from Germany it’s LHD but I’ve never found this a problem in the UK, this van has actually been my daily driver for the last 8 years. I’ve owned a number of T3s through the years and rate them as the best affordable all-rounders for the VW camping lifestyle. Since owning Clik it’s had: Full windows out re spray (£2700 in 2011) in Sepang bronze (BMW colour A32) with all suspect body panels either replaced or cleaned, treated and repainted and all the window and door rubbers replaced as well. Since then it’s also had lowered springs, new fuel tank and breather system and power steering lines replaced, glow plugs and injectors, cambelt, and power steering belt. VW campers are always a good investment and their value keeps pace with time. We have used this for numerous weekends away and holidays through the years but life has moved on and we now have to sell. Clik can be seen/driven in the PE28 area, St Ives, Cambridgeshire. Sensible offers invited in region of £9,500. Edited by Rusty Dubnuts - 09 Jul 19 at 07:35 |
