Hi,

was wondering has anybody fitted a vw g60 corrado engine into a t3?

and if so what would be needed to fit, is there engine fitting kits to fit this type of engine to a t3,

i have been very impressed with this type of engine as my m8 has a g60 corrado and it sound awsome and performance is gr8 too.

anyone out there offer me some advice on this upgrade as my 1.9 dg engine is a bit on the sluggish side need more speed!

thanks in advance

hr

It's been done....it's basically the same method of fitting a GTi engine to a diesel bellhousing.Naturally there's the wiring/ECU to sort as well as fitting an intercooler/charge cooler but perfectly do-able....and 190+ reliable BHP.

As Steve knows I've been thinking hard about doing this....

reckon the charger should fit under the hood, I've got a charge cooler ready,
should be a good engine for the beastie...

not so sure about the gearbox handling the power though.....

So do you think i may need the gearbox from g60 corrado 2 get this jobbie done?

Would the engine fit under the hood? i know Monsho said he thinks it would, but would i have any problems laying my rr bed flat over engine bay?

Corrado front wheel drive into rear wheel drive T3 = 5 reverse gears and one forward gear.

Meaning......you've got to use a T3 gearbox with a T3 diesel bellhousing.

I think if you left the engine standard at about 160 bhp then you should get away without eating too many gearboxes.

Something I have considered in the past, relativley easy install, power output is okay for the aged t3 box and can be done with 99% VW parts.

I think a G60 in the back of a syncro panel van would be a fairly lethal ring road terrorist.

Yep still got both Chris.I was selling the Pissrat cos i'd got my eye on an A4 Avant V6 TDi Quattro Sport that a mate had bought with light front end damage.I asked him to get the bits painted on it and put it back together and then i'd have it.He did just that..then MOT'd it and put 6 months tax on it.Then he thought he'd take it for a spin.........and subsequently decided to keep the f'ker cos he was that impressed with it...and i'd bought a tuning box for it as well to take it upto 200bhp!...ah well it looks like the Pissrat is destined to stay with me.Not a bad thing i suppose.Going to get it rolling roaded next week as it's feeling a bit flat under 3000rpm and gobling juice as bad as a 2.1 Caravelle from Preston.

Be careful with those cheap chargers Chris....i bought 3 off eBay.de that were described as in good working order....every single one of em was fooked.

so far ive had 7 from spain.. the difference between the ones in germany and in spain is apart from wheels/body kits/exhaust the g60 lumps out there are almost all standard.. and unlike here and germany you can get them re-built over there it a trip to VOLKSWAGEN

So the cars often seem to have replacment vw ones fitted.. the of 7 ive brought back 4 were bolted on and run, other 3 were just fitted with new seals..

ive transported 5 jabasport chargers back to spain for guys out there that wanted re-builds.. but wanted to uprate them too...

its easy enough to strip and check the scroll for damage, i normaly do that in the breakers.. before i pay..

WHY T3's.... because they are just so adictive, and having one just aint enough

I'm not saying Jabba aren't good but it's best to use www.gwerks.co.uk these days for rebuilds and porting of the chargers.Jabba tend to concentrate on turbo'd stuff these days.

Bring me back a couple.
