not getting the use to justify keeping her.

For sale is our T4 dayvan this was first registered 17/01/1997. This is the rare LWB syncro with front diff lock. they aren't making any more of these and are becoming rather sought after!. The engine is the slow and dependable 2.4d but it has been made much more driveable by the addition of a turbo from a 2.5tdi. Running at 0.7 boost gives a pleasent increase in performance but doesn't unduly stress the engine. The van has 6 month MOT and due to the modifications, specialist insurance is reasonable. It was a standard white panel van but is now audi quartz grey in a satin finish.

Inside
There are cupboards down the no door side with a mixture of tambour roller doors (much more practical to get into) and normal slow closure doors in the rear cupboards. There is a Smev double burner hob and sink. Up front are Alfa Romeo leather seats, swivel base on passenger side. In rear There are two rows of two half leather seats with seatbelts built in so no worries around seatbelt mounting and they are on adjustable rails from french filth Espace, so 2-6 seats. (With two children I just tend to have two seats in to give more space.) There is a removable table that attaches to the work top. There is a television mounted behind the drivers seat with a headphone socket and 5 outputs in the ceiling works on freeview or movies from usb stick. The ceiling has 8 low power LED lights which give just the right ambience. The two seats up front are from an alfa romeo and are very comfortable. There is a sunroof fitted above the front cab. The dash has been finished in matt black and silver. Audi leather steering wheel and upgraded entertainment system with USB and SD card facility. All speakers upgraded. The rear is insulated, lined and finished in charcoal fabric. There is an additional battery in the engine bay with a durite charger. the electrics has 4 circuits, one for tv, one for the sink pump, one for the lights, one spare, ideal to run an inverter and power socket. Also fitted is a battery volt meter (shown in one of the pics) The coolbox pictured is not included in the sale. In the 5 years I have owned I have added a swivel on the passenger seat to make it more flexible. Also has a small safe fitted.

Outside
The outside is sprayed in audi quartz grey in a satin finish. The sides are fitted with stainless side bars and all terrain tyres to go with the syncro capability. You will definitely not be getting stuck with this baby. The arches have been plastic lined to protect them from the all terrain tyres. The steel rims have been sandblasted and powder coated in silver. Opening side windows are fitted and the rear screen has been tinted. There is a debadged chrome grill to the front with Audi style headlights. There is a towbar which I have never used or tested. Full length chrome side bars. Yesterday I put a new bonnet on her, a couple of years ago I managed to acquire a rust free bonnet (hens teeth), no use to me now, so have painted in in black hammerite and fitted it for the sale.

Mechanicals
The viscous coupling has been serviced and works perfectly, as does the diff lock. It has had new rear discs and pads in the last few thousand miles. In my ownership I have had all the belts and waterpump changed

Engine
The engine runs great, it has had new glow plugs, a turbo fitted, new brake pump and fuel pump spindle bush just prior to me buying. In my ownership I have had all the belts and water-pump charged by Bob Barnes T4 in Walden. He commented favourably on the electricals and also that the engine was good and strong. Am running on 50% veggie oil which saves a few pennies. The engine has the usual VW oil leaks, I was changing a seal every time I had some work done, but as I haven't had anything done on the engine for a while, they haven't all been done.

I recently changed the fuel filter, which was a real pain as it below the battery tray, which has the 2 batteries in. So became a multi hour job rather than a quick swap.

Gearbox
The gearshift mechanism has been serviced with new bushes and fully greased. The gearbox oil and diff oil have been changed with the correct spec. All gears and clutch work fine. There is a bit of a knack to changing down from 3rd to 2nd, however you soon get used to driving it and I have had no problem. Changing up through the gears is smooth and easy.

This is 20+ years old and has some minor blemishes but no doubt this model will soon be a collectors item. was repainted just prior to me buying 5 years ago and it has held up well with on the odd blemish showing through, perfectly usable for a few years yet, then I'd budget for a respray.

I bought with the intention of weekends away, maybe a bed put in, add an awning etc. in the end we bought a cottage on Anglesey so it never panned out. I did use it to move all our furniture down there, several journeys aT30 miles without missing a beat. Using as a day-van but having the 6 seats full dildo and 6 seats is overkill and hence not using her as much as I'd like and so is hard to justify. I could really do with a swb van, or maybe a small van or twincab pickup.

Will sit all day at 65 on the motorway so an improvement on the non turbo version.

am based J27 M6 motorway (Wigan - Lancashire)

£4250 - would welcome feedback on price even if you arent in the market for one, as it isnt the run of the mill van - appreciate condition drives the price.
