Hi all as the title suggests. Am i right in thinking it was 25 on early veedub engines? Mine's a 2.0cu
 
Also, behind the rocker shaft there seems to be a thin wire pinned in place that seems to have the dual purpose of acting as a spacer and holding the rods? Unless it's in completely the wrong place and serves a different purpose, it seems a very strange part and almost a bit shoddy if that's what it's purpose is. Very un-German.
