Use multi-strand cable, like all auto-motive stuff, gotta be flexible. Not twin `n` earth like in a house !! (asking that question, are you sure you`re up to doing the mod?? electrical fires are no joke in a camper ! if in doubt, consult an auto-electrician)
Yes, as long as your split-charge system is working correctly, then the LB gets charged form the alty.

Also, I am right in saying that in normal use (i.e. not stationery) after this mod is carried out,the leisure battery which will have the radio drawing power from it, is kept charged by the alternator? cheers

I know it's been covered before - but there is one question I have to ask:
the 17amp cable running to the leisure battery, what core should the cable be?
single, twin?
