hi tim, has anyone fitted a flipped passat gearbox to a bay window ? my afn motor sits 40mm further to the rear so i could fit the T3 5 speed gearbox , to low geared man need less revs .....Smile

Yes this flipped Audi box has been fitted to the back of a bay window.

I guess that on a bay window you can fit the engine up right as per the Audi A4, rather than leaning over as in the transporter 3.

yes tim mine standard passat angle,i had a good 5 speed 40,000 miles gearbox too but scrapped it !!!
ah well ill prob get another audi box and fit it , how do u mate up the drive flange's ?...... i seem to remember audi ones being much bigger ...

There are 2 types of flanges used.


The A4/Passat box is narrower than the bus box, so there is room for spacers with the early flanges, or adaptors with the later star shaped flanges.

ah ok sounds pretty straight forward,how much will a complete bellhousing / drive shaft adaptors cost ?
