When I start my van a message appears under all those warning lamps 'service in 2000 mi' I can't understand this as there is a receipt for a service done on 6/11/2006 where it had a long life oil change and it has only done 1,600 miles since. Any suggestions?

Also a warranty job for a failed tandem pump. What is that?

Does the third year dealer based warranty cover leaking windows?

Hi Bilbo
Long life service should last up to 2yrs /18000miles depending on driving conditions. Personally mine works out approximately 15000 between services (mostly town driving). I would suggest a visit to the dealer as the service indicator may not have been set up correctly from its last service.

Leaky windows should be covered under warranty.

Hello Bilbo

The topic of leaking windows seems to have been covered a number of times previously on this forum, but like me it looks like you are new to the site, so yes I would get your van in to get your windows sorted. It is about a 3 or 4 day job as the whole unit needs to be removed by the bodyshop. Don't be fobbed off with any other fix that they might suggest, my van has been in a few times and nothing else has worked up till now but this time it seems ok.

Ours has just started flashing up service required at 14 months / 4,500 miles. We'll ask SMG if they think this is ok.  Mind you, I still think a year on the same oil, with the number of short journies, it's might be telling the truth.
