Hi, Ive got a 1990 petrol lt35 and im thinking of reconditioning the engine prior to lpg conversion, as its a bit down on power already, and I do a lot of towing. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this... very little info online about this engine at all. I think this is a volvo engine??, are there any more modern volvo engines that could be fitted in an LT?

Before you think about a re-build do a compression test on each cylinder, unless readings are low a re-build might not be necessary and the problem could be electrical or carb related.
If any readings are low then squirt a bit of oil down the plug hole and repeat the test, unless the reading improves significantly the problem is with the cylinder head, and a top end re-build can be done in a weekend. |
