On the later vans there is a white plug that connects the front loom to the dash pod loom, this has a number of wires going into the connector plug. The pin on the end of one of the wires in my van appears to have been damaged to the point it doesn't make contact with the dash pod connector strip.

Does anyone know where I can buy the pins, or have a suitable plug I can scavenge one off?

Try looking for the OEM VW plug on https://www.vwpartsprime.com/" rel="nofollow - https://www.vwpartsprime.com/ . You can always have it shipped to a freight forwarder if need be. Hope this helps you out.
