Hello,
I could do with some advice on a bizarre problem on my 2.4D
I have finished a top end rebuild.
I have also fitted a replacement pump as the original was not pulling in fuel.
Everything seems OK, no leaks everything bled up.
I have set the pump up with the special tools and it starts and ticks over nicely with very little exhaust smoke.
However when I try to accelerate it only revs to approximately 2000rpm.
Pressing the pedal to the floor just makes it judder slightly with no increase in revs.
It drives OK and will pull through the first three gears, I haven’t taken it on the open road as it’s not legal yet.
Is it the pump?
If so what could be the problem?
