Hi Guys,
Decided to break my LT, all parts are available, but large items will need to be collected/removed.
In theory as it's now 40 years old I think it doesn't need an MOT, it could be driven away for £300.

So prices if not purchased complete:-

Mirror Arms inc mirrors £20 each. Paid good money for quality mirrors so only a clean needed.
3 way fridge £40 collected. Had new burner fitted etc a few years ago ,but not used for a while.
LPG system £100 collected inc 70ltr of gas, will help to remove.
Everything else is £10 or best offer plus postage.

For example:-
Pop Top, gives almost 2m head room, bloody heavy but will help to remove.
Light clusters £10 per corner if ok when removed.
Rear door has a louvre/slat system glass, creates a great front to rear draft.
Windscreen and other glass all good.
Seats are brown vinyl but in good condition.

Anything else just ask, if I don't think it's good I won't sell it.
Royal mail are ok upto 2kg, anything heavier I use interparcel.com to get a quote.

Will be scrapped at the end of this month, so time to arrange delivery/collection.

Cheers

Andy

Very sad day Andy.

I will share it to the VoLT FaceAche page, if you agree, but the pop top will go quickly. Marlow has just finished putting one on one of his 4x4 tintops; very nice.

It is mate, my old bus is probably the last one of this conversion in the world.

http://www.mediafire.com/folder/mz44s9ljlnc99/Pampas_Nevada" rel="nofollow - http://www.mediafire.com/folder/mz44s9ljlnc99/Pampas_Nevada

The pop-top is the main reason, it takes 2 people to put up.
Can't sell it until the interior has been dismantled for obvious reasons.
No problems with listing on faceache, if you can post a link please I'll join the group.

Hi Andy, are you saying £300 for the van complete and it's drivable? if so, I likley would be up for that.

I'd be happy to share off (and perhaps deliver on my journey back to north Wales!) what I dont need with those that have already said here that they want bits.

I'm mostly after some cuts and to get myself a stockpile of general spares. And quite interested in those rear louvrewindows. If its in better nick than mine i might switch which vehicle i'm working on! If i dont take the van then maybe we can sort something out on those windows. You got a photo online somewhere you can point at? cheers

Yes mate £300 for everything bar the mirror arms, promised those to guz.
I would like to see the old girl on the road again, chassis and running gear are sound but she needs media blasting and a fair bit of welding underneath. plus door bottoms etc.
Failing that I'd like her to be usefull to other LT owners.
If you want to have a look and don't buy complete I have shed loads of cutting disks etc, so you can get the cuts etc you want.

Ch***t almighty I physically jerked back when the first photo opened!

no offence, it's just visually very shocking!

That said, it's patina would be to die for in some circles! .. i'm going to need to think about this! :)

It's a shame to break it (I have a real hangup about ruining old things that are complete).

Unfortunately it doesnt look like theres sufficient bits on it that would be transferable to or of use on mine, nor is it a project I'd favour over the one I've begun, to justify me taking it whole.

As it's running and MOT exempt it could still do a few seasons of shows as-is. People into the 'brickrats' look might appreciate it's very original condition. There's a 'brick rats' group on Facebook where someone might like it..

Depending on how things work out for you I'd still like that louvered rear window, and also headlights/surrounds and grille, and ask if you'll save those for me please, I'm south every so often so can call in

I've been gonna work on the LT for ages but the truth is the T3 and RR are worth good money restored, LT isn't. Made my mind up has to go by the end of the month.

For someone who can weld then I recon the structural areas could be sorted for £200 but the bodywork.....
If you can get south before the end of the month, to keep it simple the parts below are £10 each. .

Pair of Headlights & surrounds.
Grille
Louvred rear window.

If you want other parts/cuts when you collect we can agree a fair price.

Guys I'm working on removing the parts, got a few screws etc that need careful drilling out to avoid damage. Going to remove the indicator and light clusters at the same time, these and other parts could be difficult to find but I haven't checked. If there are really difficult parts to find then let me know and I'll advise condition etc.

P.S. Someone was asking for handbrake parts, but can't remember who.

Such a shame to see an LT like this broken up for parts, at least its helping keeping others alive.
If I didn't have a beetle engine to rebuild and an LT high top to rebuild, I would be happy to take this on as a project.LOL
Quite like the original height and pop-top combination....

I'm also in need of a windscreen washer bottle...Embarrassed

Mirror arms are off, will supply new self tapping bolts for the top hinge if I can find the box, otherwise old ones can be re-used. For £5 a side can strip, treat, prime and paint matt black if you like. Mirror glass is mint.

Parcel size is 55H, 35W, 20D, weight 3Kg. Interparcel quote £5.82 by Collect+ if I drop it off but only £15 cover. £100 cover is £14.10. Have a look, see if you can get cheaper.

Washer bottle is off, was still full so good condition.
So far the following are spoken for:-

Rear louvre window
Rear light clusters
Front grille
Headlights & Surrounds
Door buttons
Air grille below radio
Rear bump stops for doors
Clamps for engine cover
Surrounds on steering column
Coolant expansion bottle.

Removing parts to order atm, and giving you guys first pick.
If I start removing parts to sell then it will be arsebook or fleabay, which ever is quickest.

Yes mate both, one has a chip in the corner but not on the lense part, put the chip at the bottom and you'd never know. Is it just the lens or do you need the whole unit.

Just noticed you are in the USA, a quick guess at size and weight and shipping would be £25-£30.
Won't know for sure until I've removed them but are you sure it's worth it.

Hi Andy, do you still have this or have you scrapped it now?
I could do with the air filter housing and all the pipes if you still have them and if they are any good as the sports air filter mine had when I bought it sounds great n' all but it was giving the missus a headache on long journeys!
Thanks,
Trevor

Hi Andy !

I'm desperately looking for a cylinder head. I presume the van has the 2.0 NA petrol engine - you mentioned the LPG system.
Do you still have the head ? Would you post it to Colchester ? How much would it be all in all ?

Cheers
Patrick

Thanks for the quick reply.
The head is 15 kg, without the camshaft. I don't need the camshaft, but I need the oil feed pipe from it, so you might just as well leave it in place. With the camshaft, it probably comes up to 18 kg. Call it 20 to get a quote.
Volume wise it would make for a 50/25/25 cm parcel.
On the other hand, I can book the collection with the courier and I would pay the delivery service directly to them. So you can just tell me what it costs for the head and the removal. :)

So I've had a quick look around and here are some parts I need, if you can help me out! Front bumper, I'm not sure if it is the same on the 28 as the 31 but mine was crushed by an arrogant lorry driver a few years ago. The coolant bottle, mine has a split in the top which will eventually work its way through. Seals all around, I'm looking to redo all of them asap (if yours aren't any good could you recommend where I can get them from? Brickwerks have some of them but they are expensive and don't have locking strip etc). What condition is your LPG system in? the underslung tanks on mine are a bit rusty and need cutting back/protecting. I think that is it but as I do more on it over the next few days I'll get back to you if I think of anything else

Front bumper is 95% good, 28 & 31 are same width, end caps are cracked but could be repaired.
LPG system I can't run the engine but it has never given any issues.
My tank is internal 110ltr, full btw. But needs testing.
Seals internal are ok but outside forget it.
Coolant tank is not available.
Tanks should be checked internally every 10 years but are not expensive to replace.
Don't sit on a time bomb!!.
