Hi, so im looking to buy a sprinter from 2006 to 2010 going on my budget.

Looking for lwb or xlwb.  High or super high roof. Cruise control.

2.1 cdi preferably the more powerful option if available.

What can you anyone tell me about what to look out for?

Any models or years to avoid?

Common issues to check?

I know of a few things on these but always issues somewhere worth checking.

Cheers

Lol do not touch them with a barge pole, the old ones are the best.

DPF & shit re-cliamed metals used from india/china and rust like mad.

Plus point comfortable and very quiet, but thats about it.

The older ones are more reliable but 1999 onwards still use common rail engines which are largely reliable but not as reliable as the LT of the same vintage. My choice would be a 158ps 2.8 LT with the perkins engine although I wouldnt say no to a 316 sprinter with the 2.7 5cyl engine. Both are quite rare.

The newer sprinters are a light years ahead in terms of comfort and build quality is good.
Rust is a problem on them all and the old shapes are no better.

What are you looking to do? I have a MWB extra high top 319 v6 CDI with air con ehich would be ideal for camper conversion.
