Something is bubbling so need to be armed well. Syncro doka, ultra low miles, like 9000 from new!!! Still 28 years old, so could there be a specific problem related to the age only? Viscous coupling maybe? Wow, this sounds great.... I cant think of anything, but definitely worth testing the four wheel drive system (or if it is miles away then get them to send you a video)... Personally i dont think there would necessarily be anything wrong with the VC. I would trust a NOS one from the shelf that was 30 years old so why not this one? The diff lock actuators might be jammed. but shouldnt take too much messing to un jam. Got any pictures?

Maybe some of the bushes might be dried and cracked? Syncros have a few!
