Hi,

I have just acquired a T3 Westfalia Club Joker 1 1986.

It is missing the front curtain that goes between the cabin and the drivers compartment. Does anyone have a photo of what an original would look like, or does anyone have one??

I would like to replace or make one.

Can I get the press studs from anywhere?

Westie's didn't have a curtain there - the pop studs you might be thinking of are for the front window curtain.

If you're looking for info on the original Westie models and layout, you can't get much better than http://www.westfaliat3.info/html/westfalia_t3_model_history.html

The studs are around the roof behind the driver and passenger seats. So did the curtain drop down or go over the front window somehow?

Actually ignore that - looks like Club Joker's at least up to 86 did have a curtain there, you can see it in the picture's here :

The 88 club joker I have has a curtain for around cab windows and also for the divide behind cab seats.

I have an 86 club joker so it should be the same, any chance you can send me some photos of what is should be like? I have studs for the divide but cannot see anything that looks like a rail or studs for the cab windows.

I'd like to try to make replacements as close to original as possible.

Yep, there should definitely be a curtain that hangs behind the front seats of your Club Joker. The curtain fits onto the press studs mentioned in this thread and hangs three quarters of the way down. I'll send you a picture of mine

My Atlantic has a front curtain and I noticed in the westy option cat that they did one for the joker that went just behind the front seat, so I was planning on making one for my bus, any chance of posting some pic's of how it fits?? As the photo in the cat is very small.

Cheers

The one on my joker has a rail with sliding hangers similar to the one for the hightop front window. Much better than the strip type used on the back and side windows. Goes from right to left at the very back  of the cab roof panel. Think there is one press-stud on the outer edge of each curtain which joins to the same stud on the b post as the front/side window curtain would attach to.

Only pics I have handy at the moment have family so apologies for that but hopefully they show what I mean. In the first the divider curtain is clipped to the pillar when in the second the front/side window curtain is clipped in instead.

You can see the drop length of the curtain too in the second picture. I'd rather it was longer so you can screen the living area completely from the clear cab windows. Bit more privacy then if you are parked up in public and want to use the bog.

Thanks Pirate-pete,

this gives me some idea, but is your a Pop top or a High Top?

We don't have the cupboard shown in picture 1 on our pop top, Joker 1.

I think I will make something for the front windows for now, until I find an original.

My 1990 California has the dividing curtain . It is a pop top and I think it is probably what you are looking for, it has press studs to fit, the hi-top with the cupboard above has the rail.

If you still need a photo , let me know and I will set it up.
Cheers Jim

Here's what it looks like, and the measurements with it removed.

Good luck, Jim

Thanks Jim, looks just like mine.

The studs are in place on the bodywork so I just need new ones to add them to the curtain.

Don't think I can get the same fabric but I was thinking of replacing all curtains, so I will make a full set. Now way am I paying £200 for a set, which are the prices I have seen. I can drive a sewing machine better than a T3. (Don't worry I will be keeping the original curtains in a safe place).

Looks like you're well sorted now however as promised please find a link to some pictures of my curtain should they be of any interest or use. I have to say these Westies are great aren't they? Everything, including this curtain, fits like a glove. Good luck with yours

Im managed to find the curtain your after for my old Club Joker (with corner seat) in the same material as the rest at Vanfest a few years ago. So that are out there.
Great for if someone wants to sleep in the back while someone is driving!Wink

Hope the one you bought is ok.

HI Shawn,

the one I got was a different colour, slightly green but it does the job until I find the correct colour.

Hi Shawny, The 86 club joker "should" have the studs to fit a curtain that covers the inside of the windscreen and passenger and side windows (another curtain that splits the cab area and rear was available as an extra and that was fitted either to a plastic rail that was part of the roof trim or to studs depending on the year).
I have an original club joker windscreen curtain for grey int for sale here:

If your studs are not there maybe they were removed ?

Cheers,
Dave
