My next van is going to be an aircooled panel van i think. There is one just down the road that i have had my eye on for ages that some old boy owns and is mint. Of course he must have no idea what it is worth so slowly slowly etc..

wheels are 17" steelies off a T5. Got the adapters machined up and played around with the offset a bit and am really happy how it looks now.

I can find part numbers if needed, i got these off ebay but i think they are about £45 from VW dealer

Cheers,

Just got to decide what to do with it, pretty sure the head is cracked so thinking about a recon or a cheap used motor to keep it going but a subaru or VR6 sounds very tempting.....

I've owned this one owner, low-miles panel van for the last three years but have only recently pulled it out of my lock-up so that it can be MOT'd, taxed, slammed and sold!

Its super-slammed (for a T3!Big smile), has a caravelle 3-seat bench in the back and I will shortly be fitting a campiing interior for a cooker, sink etc. once thats all done you will see it in the 'for sale' section!Cry

My new panel van...

So far... Paint. 17" Porsche twists. Big bumpers.

Still to go... Sliding door mod. Lowering. Day-van interior.
Not sure what else yet, but this forum is full of amazing stuff, so we'll see!
If i drop it on 50mm AVOs, do ya reckon i could get away with leaving standard shocks? They don't look too bad (certainly not the originals) Just on a bit of a budget and can't stretch to shocks AND springs right now...

Date Posted: 28 Nov 10 at 20:50
^ s'nice chap!

me old doka had minus (erm 40 or 50?) AVOs and standard shocks when i bought it and it was terrible - kept ridong on bump stops/bottoming out.

Drove Mrs and baby home from hospita; after she had had a C section and nearly had to take her back to be sticthed up again.

Fitted a set of Bilsteins - B4s i think and was a fab ride after.
