Can someone with some Caddy knowledge help me please ? I have bought a 1900 diesel type 1Y engine but I dont know much about it. All I know is that it came out of a Caddy and if it means anything it has a power steering pump. Could I find anything by the engine number to date it ?

I'd guess 1997 > 2000, I'll ask around a bit. I think they were fitted in the polo / caddy / mk3 golf/vento.
