OKTOBERFEST 3rd-5th October 2008
You may well of heard of this already but here's the full lowdown.
We are organising this totally new and unique event for 2008 - Its a European style VW family event held on a 5 star campsite with fantastic facilities at the bottom of Cheddar Gorge in Somerset. We have selected our specific traders by invitation only to ensure the right mix, each camping pitch has elec hook up and the site boasts a restaurant,Pool,European spec BMX track,Skate park,Mountain biking,Zoo,Adventure playground,Archery,Canoeing,Caving and loads more. Of course there will be Show and Shine,Autojumble and Live bands/entertainment etc. Bookings are looking busy with a lot of large clubs using the event as an end of season bash and last chill out before the winter, one is even having a xmas party. It would be great if we could get a Brickpark together to do the same and i'm sad enough to co-ordinate it so check out the website for more info at www.Oktoberfestuk.com and if your up for it, heres the deal:

Download your booking form, complete it with your vehicle reg, number of persons (inc kids) and stating if you have an awning, write a cheque and SAE (payable to Oktoberfest)and post it to me at the address below -(gonna have to set a deadline of 1st sept due to discounted rates)
Post to:
Dr Dub
41 Jubilee Road,
Kingswood,
Bristol, BS15 4XG
I'll do the rest and you'll be sent all the info shortly after the deadline.
Be great to get as many bricks together as we can in a nice refined place !!.

MICHAEL - CAN YOU MAKE THIS A STICKY PLEASE + sort the website link !!
Regards
Chris

Dont forget to book any non VW activities directly with the campsite in advance - we're hoping to book a few on site ones ourselves for everyone to try ie, archery, large ropeslide, topless volleyball etc

Deadline for camping in the Brickies area is 1st sept as stated in original information - anyone who books later than this or arrives on the day is very welcome but will be given a different plot, however all the plots are pretty closely situated anyway so don't panic too much.
Have booked the bands now and some of you may remember them, We've had many requests so everyone should enjoy it.
Bookings coming in steadily but don't leave it too long !.
Looking forward to chillin out a bit at this one !!.

Hi Dr. Dub,

Sorry about not spotting the deadline date in the original info!  Doh!

I have tried to download a form this morning.  It doesn't work for some reason.  When you get to the 'Continue' button it either doesn't do anything, or it gives a 'Page Not Found' error.  (Tried a few times with a reboot in between as well).  Could be a 'Firewall' issue I guess, this is my employers PC.

Could you please check it out for me, and advise if I am continuing to be thick!  Also, (having not seen a form of course) does it have somewhere to request 'Brickie's camping' or whatever?

Many thanks,

Paul.

Gentle Reminder ; Prices change after 1st sept so get in asap and i will hold cheques til beginning of sept before banking.

Dr dub, just read you can pay on the gate, not back to work till next week to book the weekend off, so will hang back till i know for sure, tight, me, what you mean LOL, if i can sort it, are there many going down from our neck of the woods, safety in numbers and all that!, andy

UPDATE ! - As its a proper laid out campsite albiet big, there are limited pitches and its getting pretty booked - spaces at the mo but just to warn you that it may get fully booked out - if you need to decide last minute, check the website before you leave home - I'd hate to disappoint anyone.
Curtis - That would mean filling her up more than half - Can't see too many of em doing that . Can't remember who's from where to be honest but half of Wales have booked and theres a fair few in the Brickpark so you'll be welcomed.

Just book yourself in and put vehicle reg to be confirmed on the form - then you'll need to tell us when you arrive, its a campsite rule thing to do with numberplate recognition cameras that work the gate on site.

Due to nearly selling out - We have just confirmed several extra statics for hiring as they were previously fully booked out and also secured an extra 30 pitches (without hookup) - this isn't a sales ploy, if you want to come, book asap - we've also just arranged to open the heated outdoor pool. interesting to see the fallout from vanfest, especially the thieving bit. wonder if its worth writing your reg number on your wrist band (if being issued) that way if you see something suspect if you challenge them, if their numbers dont match, happy days, we can put them on the naughty step. just a thought.

Kooldubs - I do my best to look after my fellow Brickies as always but unfortunately its sold out for camping and we can't RAM it for H&S reasons - if you do buy a 'second hand' ticket (so to speak), its no probs but drop us a mail with the plot number and your updated details and reg number of it will all go to ratshit when you arrive and its not you. Some buses may share a large plot so may be a good idea to bring a 16amp splitter cable just in case. We are looking into more camping space but its looking very cozy at the mo - will let you all know first if the situation changes. There are still some static caravans and Lodges available if that helps anyone ? 'Birthday treat' perhaps ?.

When ALL the Brickpark Brickies have arrived and set up, if they are happy to fit you in, then i don't have a problem with that as long as the access is kept clear but you won't be far away in the 'Piddle Patch' anyway.

SPG - BB = Bass Band (practicing area) - open from 6am til midnight sat/sun, they're a bit loud and not very good but you'll get used to it.
Kooldubs - send us a mail through the website for caravans and lodge prices and state how many persons/rooms etc as the prices vary.

Hi Stu - gotta be a no i'm afraid, everyone was given plenty of warning and time to prebook and I think space is gonna be tight. Even forgetting H&S (which i can't), i don't think its fair to compromise the space for everyone else. I'll always try to help where i can but its just too late in the day to magic a pitch - Some static caravan and Lodges are available he/she fancies it - contact our admin through the main website for prices (caravans are reasonable). Failing that, if they want to stay in another local site fri nite and take a chance, if there is any space left once everyones settled, I'll get em in but at this stage i just don't know.

Skeeb - yep, no problem for people to bring extra persons and pay on the gate as long as they are sleeping in vans and awnings that are already booked in and hence won't be taking any extra space.
UPDATE - all static caravans are now sold out ! - only the lodges left and they are a bit pricey unless you fancy treating yourself. Theres also details of another campsite approx 1 mile away on our website.

What sort of money are the lodges? Getting less and less confident the van is gonna make it and not sure I want to sleep in an awning at this time of year!

I could handle it you understand, being hard as fook an all, just the wife and littlun..... (honest Wink)
