Im fairly sure the letters in commas are for the territory it was destined for.

The numbers, not 100% sure

Letters and numbers, ppff, dunno!

Dunno where it`s at? Mine is 216 106, and it`s betweeen the dates 8/86-7/90, and then 1 and I as comments, but it`s not a Club Joker 1 as these seem to have the corner rear seat, mine has the standard 3/4 seat and 2 top-flap side cupboard, swivel table etc, looks like your Atlantic apart from the different seat cloth (light grey/red stripe). Mine looks like the one in the original brochure.

Maybe the letter is the differentiation between the layouts? (the letter will be German for something?)

Mines 216 103c It's not on the list, but I can tell you it's a Canadian spec Vanagon GL Syncro.
