I still cant believe that the first thing so many people do when they get a new van is drill holes in the bottom of it !!.

The amount of van floors i do work on that have corrosion around the ply floor screws is unbelievable. ( some less than 3 years old ! ).

I always " stick " the floors down using windscreen adhesive.

dont know if that helps in a crash.the only reason i say this is due to work
racking which will be heavy and has to be screwed down to floor

It's possible to secure a plywood floor using the 6 captive nuts that VW install for the load securing rings.  If you do this, it's easy to remove the ply floor if you need/want to.
