Hi All,

Porsche Design 90's. 16 x 6 front (narrowest, for van w/o PAS), 16x6, or 7 or 8 on rear?  Slider issues?  Suspension clearance issues?

Centre hole?  Big enough to clear on front grease cap?

Tyres?  Is there a 'calculator' somewhere to get the new rolling radius the same as the old rolling radius please?  Or...which aspect ratio to go for? Rating?  95 minimum?  (Pop top Holdsworth camper [1989 2.1 WBX])

ET is 52, so to get back to ET in the middle of the ideal range needs theoretical spacer size of 17mm, so 20mm spacers?

Don't want to modify body, slider hardware, or have any clearance issues at all (!).

I'm betting Simon can supply everything (except wheels)

Spoke to 2 different people at Stanford Hall show who both claim it's a breeze.  (One of them is selling the wheels)

Seem a nice 'just so right look', your comments please guys.

Thanx very much,

PaulG

25mm adaptors required(Simon should have them)...T3 5X112PCD to Porsche 5X130PCD

No sliding door issues with 7's or 8's with high ET.

Higher the load rating the better. 215/55/16's are near enough bang on for a T3.

There's a tyre calculator in the information section.

6's look a bit lost on a T3 in my opinion.

I'd go for 7's and 8's. I'm running 18x7.5's up front at present straight onto adaptors with no probs. They run a 50mm offset. I think you should get away with a 7x16 design 90 with 55mm offset.

8's on the back, again no probs. They usually come with 55mm offset so will bolt straight onto the adaptor without need for spacers.

yep got em on mine. 6.5 ont the front with 205 55 16 tyres and 8 inch on the rear with 225 50 16 tyres. 20mm adaptor on front and 25mm on rear. no issues with slider and imho i think they really suit the 80s looks of a t3.

Thanks for the info so far guys.  I have now realised that the adapter I knew was required is also effectively a spacer...so another step nearer knowing what I'm supposed to be doing!

So...I'm thinking 16 x 6 Front, 16 x 8 Rear. 25mm adapters, converted to studs all round, 205 55 16 tyres front, 225 55 16 tyres rear.  (But what does '205 and '225' actually refer to please?) Tyres rated as high as possible. (How do the ratings work please?)

Anyone else with an opinion or contribution to make please?  Otherwise once I've paid Simon's bill for servicing and lowering, it's off to Kinky Micks!

205 and 225 are the widths of the tyres paul the 50 and 55 is the height of the sidewall (or profile) sometimes known as the aspect ratio. and the 16 is the diameter of the tyre ie 16 inch

yep 230 was the pair!!!

get off to kinky micks then!!!

oh and get some tidy adapters off the likes of charlie (transporscher)

more money but well worth it.

Same set up as mine, lowered 60mm with no rubbing or problems with sliding door. I buy high spec part worn tyres for £20ea fitted, they've usually got about 60-70% wear left in them.

With a 65mm offset, you'll need a 10mm spacer aswell as the adaptor for the wheel to sit in about the right place.

I'd run 245/45/16's on 8s, look much better and protect the rim more from those kerbs which "jump out of nowhere!"
