Hi

Can anyone recommend a decent parts supplier for old model LT stuff in the UK or Mainland Europe?

The main thing I'm looking for at the moment is a new exhaust tail piece for a 79' 2.0 petrol model, by the looks of it it comes in 2 parts and runs from the rear silencer to behind the rear wheel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I havent got a clue what I am talking about.

Try this link for your exhaust, there are a few different suppliers so shop around on fleabay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-LT-28-31-35-40-45-50-2-4-1982-1989-Exhaust-Rear-Pipe_W0QQitemZ200218890268QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200218890268&_trkparms=72%3A1090|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

As for other parts most service items are readily available from the likes of German and Swedish, or your local parts supplier.
Anything specific post the problem and someone is bound to come up with a supplier.

Good luck with the exhaust and welcome to the forum.

Yeah I tried those guys before, the only problem is they only list stuff from the 2.4 Deisel....Its like the 2.0 petrol from the 70's never existed.

I posted this link to The Bay of Fleas a while ago. I think this is the correct back box(excuse me). I seem to remember someone on here saying you had to force them to fit a little, but once on o.k.

Anyway, you could always go stainless, mine sounds great with one. "RRRRROOOOOOOOAAARRRRRR".

Butternut.

I had a full system made up for me by a fella near Bolton, I took the bus up and he made it in an afternoon. I think he mainly did sports systems for the "neon light/spoiler nutcase brigade", but he was a good guy.

£300 if I remember rightly. I love it Graham, worth every penny in the long run I think.

I found a company in walsall that do the same sort of thing, a bit far for me to go, but would make a day out. Again its made while you wait. They said it would be around the £300 mark, so just got to wait for my old one to blow a hole.

Or will find yourself underneath the old girl with a mucky handful of Halfords exhaust repair tape and a gritty eyeful of all sorts of crap thinking..... "What am I doing under here".

Hands up who's not been there......

Company called Longlife Exhausts did my Omega V6 for £400, will do anything and give you a choice of exhaust notes, twin pipes etc.
Again takes em about a day cos everything is hand made & TIG welded.

Found that already and realised it was for a pick up, Its far shorter than the Van one, Although there is nothing wrong with a short pipe or so I'm told.............

Sorry mate, it looked right to me...... but mine is a pick up, originally.

Nothing wrong with a short pipe if you can hang it o.k. I guess.

Loads of stuff on fleabay at the moment, reasonable prices too.

P.S. You might get fumes in the van if the pipe is too short.
