I have a bad oil leak from the input shaft on my gearbox, I had thought it was the engine and spent last weekend swapping the engines over with a spare Iv got. Been fine on short run’s to work but took the van for a spin today parked and had a look started dripping then poured out between gearbox and engine then stopped. Risked driving home now need to fix it.

Is this a job I can do, or is it off to someone who knows and if so who, I live in Gloucestershire and would help if local.

just change the seal in the box but wilst it is apart check the spigot bearing in the end of the crank and the condition of the input shaft.

Umm, see also my post re bellhousing.

I have jsut dropped my gearbox for second time (replaced the seal the first time.  It seems my flywheel doesn't have a spigot bearing.  It was an AAZ engine conversion fomr a 1.6TD.
