Looks like it might suit a landscape photographer?  Would blend in better than my red one!

it's a diesel though, john.  you wouldnae like it.  no prissy electrics to go wrong and leave you stranded.

if it really is in 'just out of mothballs' condition, with only 55000km on the clock, i think that's a pretty decent price.  you certainly get a lot of [hopefully rust-free] metal for your money.

If it was a 4x4 then I might be interested myself but it's not.
Still reckon it's too much, but it won't be my dosh that buys it

Ex-military vehicles can be a good buy, but can also have a hard life.
Nobody has invented a vehicle yet that's army proof.

If you read the ad
quote '

Double skinned and insulated rear compartment. High Top. Walk through. Diff lock. Good tyres, rear and spare (new) are mud and snow. Front towing pin and rear tow bar. Fire extinguisher. Twin batteries. Lockable ‘ammunition’ box between front seats. '

and look at the pictures , what the silver gear lever next to the seat belt receiver

Am I missing something here, £2k min for a bare van when you can buy a fitted out camper for £2.5K max.

I paid £780 for my old camper 4 years ago and it's cost me £80 in parts so far, needs a new interior at some point and it's getting a respray later this year, but everything else is re-usable.

Hey mate I love my old LT and have no plans to sell, but with the gas conversion you'd be looking at £2K min.
I've never owned a vehicle which has cost me so little to run, but it would have been a fortune if I couldn't weld to MOT standards.
The LT in question is a bit newer than mine, but it's still old and prospective buyers need to check for rust etc.
Rover came with an MOT but all there was in the shocks and steering damper was air, so you can't rely on an MOT. Paid £640 though so still smiling, especially with the windows down.

i got a reply from the seller; as i suspected, it's not a 4x4 —the lever by the seatbelt anchor operates the difflock.
