Just fitted the newly re-furbished Mecedez SLK 7 spokes, centre caps wouldn't fit on the front two courtesy of the large grease caps so, what i did was cut out the centre of the front two caps. Mercedez very kindly even stamp a circular guide to let you know haw far out to cut.
Then i went to B&Q and brought a pack of two wash-and basin nylon washers (£1.15p) Sikaflex these onto the outside of the centre caps allmost a perfect fit, then scrape off the excess with a plastic knife damp with white-spirit, spray with what ever colour you want and leave for 24 hours.
Then get your new VW centre caps that have arrived via Ebay and Taiwan and centralise them on top of the old one's, after cutting off the five locating legs with a few drops of Superglue, then mask-up around the inner edge of the new caps and pipe Sikaflex inside the the difference between the two caps ( idid both inside and outside and, then once again clean-up with a white-spirited white plastic knife or something similar.
Wait 24 hours because no pressure was applied between the joints then fit and enjoy.
