Finally got myself some wheels. They 16" mercedes wheels from a E240 Avantgarde. I know the PCD is 112 but The bore hole for the wheel nuts are wrong. They too small. Not too sure on ET as yet. But I need to get the Holes bored out. Does anyone know where I might get this done?. Any help??? Cheers people

Also seeing as you seem to know everything. These wheels come as standard with 225/55/16 tyres, thats when on a merc. Now on a wagon Im guessing they might need a different size tyre ie maybe a 40-45 profile, to keep the speedo siimilar. Don't suppose you know what size tyres it might be?

Drill the holes out to 15mm...re-threading equipment...why?

215/55/16 is near enough bang on for a T3 so 225's won't make that much difference.Check the load rating of the tyres as well.Ideally they should be above 92 but you can get away with 91's if it's not a fully laden camper.

Riteo ok. So I get my decent 15mm Drill bit, in my axminster pillar drill and drill me 15mm hole in me nice shiny merc wheel and this should do it yes? I also just been looking on your spacing table, I pretty sure the wheels have an ET of 42, and I know they 7.5 wide, so by your table this puts the 13 spaces off the yellow, but a further 10 off the green, in your knowledgable opion what you think? I have an 83 transporter van. Seems touch and go. And is it the bigger the spacer the crapper the drive?

"My table"

That's Tee3's baby.

Yes 15mm drill bit.

10mm spacers should do the trick.

Ah true yes sorry bout that. Ok nice one. Ill be butcherin me wheels in the morn then. I was about to av em refurbed but i'll wait until after I drilled out me hole as im guessin it'll bust up the lacquer a bit and cause water damage in winter if I dont. Oh last question, where might I get Wheel spacers?

10mm spacer will put you right where you need to be...

its not the size of the spacer that gives a shat drive, its the deviation from the original offset. If you can avoid going too far from the 30-40mm ET then you'll be fine.

ET 42 with a 10mm spacer gives ET 32. Bob on.

The funny thing about the above is this. My wheels are 7.5 wide they have an et of 42, with the 10mm spacer this gives me a et of 32, but in the 7.5 row, this is still in the red. Yyou guys seem to think this will be ok?

So, come on then lads please explain how this works, me wheels have an et of 42 this means with a 10mm spacer they sit at 32, and according to the graph of sin! this is still in the red, Now I've had a couple o people tell me (including you lot) that an et of 32 with a 7.5 wheel should be ok. So before I go buying me spacer what-d-ya reccon?

Com On All knowledgable ones lets wrap it up.

Cheers Nev

that chart is only a guide.... it errs on the safe side...

My intention was to tweak it a little once i had some feedback from what people had fitted, but ive not had much...
