Well just bought this beastie off a site member... 

Started today to look at bodywork, once the filler and rust was removed its not a pretty site.Cry

Most of it is however superficial as its not load bearing or structural...and being pretty good at welding and fabricating will helpTongue
 
Nearly all the outer lower panels will req cutting and plates welding in,appx 1 weeks work I think

Didn't realise that panel was that bad. The ones immediately behind the front wheels / around those double seams were definitely the worst ones, though! 

On the plus side - it's gonna be rock on when you've done with them! Big smile

Glad it made it back without any problems.
Engine cranes = the ultimate tool to test the tensile strength of Everything you didn't disconnect!

Its all good icky where it counts, I knew once i cleaned out the rust it would be holy lol.. I am going to have a good go at the welding this weekend.. Maybe get all that front arch area in pics done and dusted..

Those are all the bits that we went round and said "This is a bad bit" though, so at least it's not too much of a shock.

Got to get on it it Icky, Am going to buy a metal folder this weekend as going to be removing big chunks of the sides...Am quite looking forward to it actually...
 
Still not sure on a colour scheme yet but thinking maybe Red Bull Blue?

Oh and bought some Transit 15" rims and sent them off for banding, going to lower it by 100mm at the rear and about 70 at the front (The front will have a slighthly smaller tyre so will even out...

LOL....It looks bad but after stripping insides out the rot is very localized indeed so hopefully should be easy enough...will post some pics up sat of first repairs 

I am just outside darlington...we need to join the T4/T5 meetings maybe?
