errrr no it's not, it's left hand drive, but I have got used to it now, first couple of drives just kept an eye on my mirrors until I got used to positioning myself so I'd got equal distance between the syncro and the kerb and the white line either side, managed to not hit anything either side so far

Just a thought, which show is the most central, in terms of folk travelling from the north and the south?

i think i was gonna say if you keep the tax disc lined upi with the white line on the edge of the road, not the one in the middle you'll sit about right on the road, but then i realized it is a rhd syncro ????

A section for LT's at a show be it camperjam or any other would be great. But as Baxter says you'd need one or two LT's that have the wow factor (no not the X factor.. ) to pull in the crowd. Then you could have a few other vans to show off the range of conversions (Sven, Florida, Coach etc) plus we've got the various generations of vans (early, facelift, Mrk II and Crafter). So with a bit of effort and commitment, it could be a great (and big..) line up! :D It might not change the world, in terms of peoples perceptions or the availability of after market parts.. But might enlighten a few folk! So pencil me in.. Andy

It was funny when I pulled into RTTH's a few weeks ago , loads of folk turning they heads to look , they could see the VW badge and the Westfalia stickers , loads came asking about it ,some had a good look around and were glob smacked by the amount of room in it and the mpg that you can get out of them if your gentle , some folk even said that they were going to look for one.
Like Simon has said 10 years again folk struggled to get 'special' parts for their T3's and now look at it , tat everywhere you look. If you can get the clear indicator lenses then I'll take a pair. Some of the LT's I've see have the big bumpers/spoliers so someone at some point was making them. I don't get to many shows , dubfreeze and Rtth's being about the only ones , but if i'm not working then I could turn up. |

Organisers cater to the market, the simple fact is that there isn't that many LTs as there are T1s, T2's, T3's T4s and T5.
You start making some nice and and put them in the show and shine (they will make a category for you if you give them enough warning and guarantee a range in the line up, and not just some rusty old shitters!!) and you may find that things change a little.
As it is at the moment there are very few LT's going to the shows so there seems little point in catering for them.
Sorry if it sounds harsh but this is what happened with the T3 10 years ago or so.
the fact of the matter is that most people buy a LT because it's a big cheap van, usually a bit tatty and not really something people want to look at during a VW event, they can see the same parked around the back of most outdoor markets for free.
if you feel they aren't paying attention, make them listen, build a nice one, be a pioneer maybe then people will change their perceptions and it may enthuse others to do the same.

Agreed. If there was gonna be a collection of lt's at a show and our van was anywhere near ready for camping we'd probably have a trundle along to support it. Just as long as we didn't have to polish the van though. ![]() Tony |

If a few people show their LT's at a show I bet you would get a lot of interest as it is something different. People like to see something different and every LT on show would probably be completely different to the one next to it.
Without exposure people don't even know it exists. Time to make it onto the wall of fame as it deserves. I hope everyone would be happy to show them with pride no matter how clean to how rotten.
There! I've finished

I jokingly spoke to baxter about developing a lowering kit for an LT, or a coil spring conversion for the rear leafsprings. He did say that clear indicators might be available.

Sazza - go into the "For Sale" section :) http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/for-sale_forum7.html BeJay - It's a shame if you do have to sell your LT, but Syncro's are proper hardcore cool! I had one for a while - and compared to the LT the handling is so much better... and with the 2.1, you'll be blown away by the performance!

Have been to a few vw shows as a t3 owner but quickly got bored with them as there was usually very little there for t3 fans. Given that the world of t3's is much bigger than the lt scene, I think it'll be a very long time before vw shows have much to offer lt owners in the uk. Never been to Camperjam though. Tony Hey still very nice to see lovely restored vans, but variety is the spice of life, as they say. Still be good to see a few nice LTs at next years show. There was a T3, T4 & T5 section there last year.
