Did some more today. Put in the plinth for the cooker and attached it to the sink part of the kitchen. Can't see it in the pics but I have also cut out the hole for the sink in the worktop. Attached panel on front.

Without the cooker in it's proper place. (That's it on top of the fridge).

With the cooker temporarily in place.

The back of the van now.

More tomorrow

Cheers and thanks for looking

not ready for camping season then!

I like that plan, I'm toying with the idea of changing ours around inside, but not until the back end of the year after many many camping trips (i hope lol)

good luck AL

Well it's been 6 months since I did anything on the camper and the first thing I did was take out a load of stuff I put in last year. Having read various bits about other conversions and looking at lots and lots of pictures, I've decided to rearrange the interior. I've panelled the upper part of the interior inside the rear doors and put the sink framework across the rear. The framework will continue right across the back and I'll put the sink/drainer into the corner. Will move the cooker further toward the back and make a bit of storage next to it. The gas bottles and waste water tank will be under the sink and shall be accessible through the rear doors.

More next week

Cheers

Cut out the front panel for the kitchen unit and put a door on

Also ordered some stuff so I can start on the electrics and water instillation.

Cheers

Thanks Keebs67, it's nice to know somebody other than friends and family have a look in now and again. Did some more this week in between the rain.

Made a plinth for the cooker

Fitted the modified front of a unit from the scrapped caravan

Then braced it to the side wall

And today finished the bracing and started making a plinth to put the waste water container on

More soon

Cheers

Started putting my fridge in. Made a base and then cut out some of the panelling and insulation and filled in the gap with ply and duct tape to stop any unwanted draughts later.

Put fridge in temporarily - still to put exterior vents in. Still needs to be wired and plumbed in.

Started making side panel.

Exhaust cover in place

And fitted a Zig unit

More tomorrow hopefully

Cheers

Managed to squeeze a few hours in today. Started paneling around the windows. When it's done it will all come back off so I can put extra insulation and a water heater in.

Cheers

Finished bracing around windows. Started cutting panels to go over the top and the Censored generator ran out of petrol so gave up for the day.

.

Found a use for the seat

More soon (work permitting)

Cheers for that Zoe. Will pop round again soon to see how you are both doing.

Started on the fun stuff today. Cut a hole in the floor (also sealed and painted zinc oxide on the edges)

Installed the heater

Fitted the cupboard around it

Fitted the blower to the back

Started on the first seat

Still to plumb the heater in and get it checked by my friendly plumber before using. More tomorrow

Cheers

Hi Allan,
Just wanted to say it great to meet you (and great to meet you again for Rog, small world!) and thanks for your help, advice, and the try of your battery - it's such a relief to know for sure it is just a bad battery!
Bring the Mrs through any time if she wants to have a look at the interior...
Cheers
Zoe

Glad you are pleased Matt.

Checked the rear brakes today and adjusted the handbrake cable. Think thats it for the mechanicals. Also put silicon sealant round the indicators so hopefully no more water where it shouldn't be.

Cheers

Side windows bonded in. They are as they were in the old camper. Plenty of sealant and screwed through into the wooden subframe.

Then bracing for the kitchen area and window surrounds were started.

Also fitted a new dash as the old one had rather a large hole in one side (sorry for the poor pic Wacko ) and the fuel guage and water temp guage had a dodgy circuit board.

Caravan stripped out and got rid of. (I was asked if I'm opening a timber yard Embarrassed)
Fitted new wiper blades and adjusted the washers (they were doing a canny job of washing the roof LOL).
Started modifying the caravan interior to fit.
Fitted fastening clamps for the front seat as there were none. Didn't look as if there had ever been any either Shocked.
Changed the passenger side indicator lens (the old one was cracked)

More soon

Cheers

PS. If you watch BBC 1 at 10.35 on the next 6 Monday nights (Tears & Gears) you will see what I used to do before I started messing about with LT's. My camper will be at a few of the meetings next year. A preview of the programme is on http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00td9d7
