Hi,
I have just ordered a set of tyres for my new Merc wheels and I'm thinking I may have made an error in the load rating. They are 205 60 16 (96 extra load) for a set of rims 16x7. I've had another look through the forum and the general consensus is for a 97+ load rating. They will be going on a Westy Atlantic pop top. I want a safe tyre for the bus, but that was the highest load rating the tyre place could get for me. Should I humbly apologize and try and get some other tyres sorted out? Thank you in advance. 96 is 710kg per tyre.
As long as the maximum axle rating for your Westy isnt over 1420kg for either axle youre fine. |

I am much obliged to you Tee3 for deciphering the load rating.
I have looked at the owners manual and translated (as it was in German) and I'm pretty sure that front axle is 1200kg and the rear is 1300kg, so all looks OK. That'll save me upsetting the tyre bloke as he is a big bloke. Thanks again |
