Hi all,

I am currently having a problem getting insured on our 1986 T3 1.9 petrol Autosleeper Trooper.

My wife has been insured with Flux for 11 months. She has been driving for 15 years and never made a claim.

I only passed my test in January and I am on our cars insurance as a second driver.

We asked Flux for a quote, as we need to renew in July, and were advised that I need to have been driving for at least 2 years before they would insure me.

My wife has also tried a couple of other insurers and has been told the same.

Does anyone know why this is?

We are due to drive to France and spend 4 weeks touring around at the end of July and I was supposed to be sharing the driving.

Does anybody have any suggestions on who might insure me as a second driver?

It seems odd to me that I cant get insured.

Thanks in advance of any suggestions.

It may be an expensive option, but have you tried the companies that insure you to drive someone else vehicle under a separate temporary policy? Just a thought...
