Hi guys & gals!
I have just changed oil and filter in the gearbox in my 2007 T5 and thought of sharing som thoughts and photos.
I know there is already a post on this but since I have some more photos and info I would ike to share it as well.
I read his guide and took advantage of it too, thanks!
Facts:
- VW T5 2007
- Engine is 2.5TDI 174hp BPC engine
- Gearbox JAC, 09K (Manufactured by Aisin TF-60SN)
Recomended oil change interval by VAG is NEVER, they just does not care.
But after some research I have found a interval between 45.000km and 80.000km depending on environment and how hard you run it would be a more adequate interval.
My T5 has 240.000 km on it. The gearbox was changed on warranty at 120.000km and I have only owned the car for about 15.000 km. I did not want the replaced one to brake either so I thought it was time now to give it some love
This is my car, very dirty at the time:

Have started to loosen it so the oil can drain:
To remove it entirely I had to move the engine a little with force. It was quite easy though, the engine mounts are flexible.
The two magnets that will attract gear wear in form of metallic particles:

Oil pan cleaned and no magnets at the moment:
Magnets cleaned, new gasket installed:

OEM numbers on parts:
Oil filter gearbox: 09K 325 429 , I paid €34 for it at the time
Oil pan gasket: 09K 321 370, I paid €33 at the time
