ok , i am about to order some AVO lowering springs from brickwerks , is 70mm drop to much for a westy ? does LPG tank etc get to low to the ground ?
should i stick with 50mm drop ? regards Matt Edited by 16vmini - 12 Dec 10 at 15:52 |

70mm borderline prohibited, if you want to retain a decent quality of the steering geometry and not wreck suspension components or the seatbox. The westy is heavy, 50mm should be fine. Take a look at the information page of the yard, also take a look in the brickwerks site, very well explained product info in the suspension category. Welcome to the yard!

i think general consensus is -50. you can go as low as you want but there will be a trade off in ride quality. what is exceptable to some will be unbearable to others.

Aside from steering and suspension geometry, at 70mm you'd be leaving precious little clearance under the Westy's plastic waste water tank...

this is my single cab lowered 70mm with no weight so don't think you'd want to go this low with a camper

This is mine, its on Weitec -45mm, so expect it a bit lower. They come direct from AVO, so they need some of the credit for turning stuff around so quickly.
Nice to know though. |
