is that a mk4 bumper? certainly couldn't be a t5!!

Yeah, its a MK4

I assume the T5 is a little harder?

Going back to page one of the original thread, I can't believe the trouble you guys are having!  I just went out and took my sidelight bulb out in under 30 seconds (in the dark with a torch) as a test.  There isn't much room it's true, but it's not that bad...... Confused  There are some really evil bulbs to change on modern cars but the T5 isn't one of them.  (Well mine isn't at least).

I'm away working so I'm on a mobile internet connection at the moment but when I get back I'll post some pics or a video even Smile   Maybe your later vans are worse?

How do I change the headlight bulbs, though? Ruff, tuff & difficult or easy peasy?

Got a damn light out tonight...

I can't see how you boys are finding it difficult either. Sidelight removal for me was made awkward because it has melted in the holder and the holder wouldn't come out of the light. Indicators are easy enough as the complete holder and bulb comes out by twisting it 1/4 turn. To change the headlight bulbs, you first need to unscrew the headlight backing cap, remove the wiring plug, then undo the spring clip holding it in place in the light. Piece of piss really.....

If they won't turn even a millimetre they are probably melted like Loon's.  If they are, no point in going in ham fisted and mangling something.  They have to be turned first before pulling.  I'd go for long nosed pliers and some gentle perseverance.  Worse case senario is headlamps out and curse crappy plastic modern car design. Fuck that. It can be a bit of a bugger and when I did mine, I broke the holders and had to get and wire in new ones. Would they do that if they did the same?
