The bus (1.6td)won't start from cold.

I've got a glowplug light on the dash.

Also to make sure i've had a multimeter on the plugs themselves(getting 10/11volts)

after around 15 to 20 mins of turning the ignition on and off she will fire up.... and once warmed up,will fire up straight away.

so it must be the glowplugs right?

had a look to see how hidden they are,2 of them look like they might be a bitch to replace.... so i'm thinking its gunna go to the garage.

How much do reckon it will cost?

Spent the weekend doing mine, and still not solved my problem but they
needed doing anyway. Bitch of a job I'd rather have paid someone to do it
than do it in the pissing rain as I did.

Whatever the cost it's worth it... trust me.

I did mine and didnt really struggle that much.

Obviously, its the two glow plugs under the diesel pump that are a biatch to get at.

Take off the injector pipes and get them out the way.
Get hoses out the way.
Unbolt the copper power bus.
Unbolt and remove the old glow plugs (bit fiddly!).

This is the important bit:
Loosely attach two of the new glow plugs to the copper power bus to the end that goes under the fuel pump.
Use the copper power bus to move the new glow plugs into place - give them a gentle rattle so you can seat them one at a time.
Screw them in and tighten once your sure they are not cross threaded.

Yeah - it is a bitch of a job but not impossible- and i've got to do it again on my new engine (because i didnt have time to do it when the engine was out - bugger).

Good luck

Had a similar problem once. Changed the glow plugs & nothing impoved. Found the fused had blown. Cost next to nothing & fitted in seconds. Worth checking?
If you need help with a mechanical cable let me know.
