Hi all.
Ever since I've had my van I've never been able to figure out why the interior electrics won't function when not on hookup. When connected everything seems to be working perfectly fine. As per advise so far I've tested both batteries and they're registering well within the functional mark although I'm not savvy in this area at all, and was wondering what possible reasons for this issue might be if not battery related? Any help would be very much appreciated! |

Is it an original westfalia ?
If so, the mains go to the charger and then to the battery. I could imagine that the charger is not connected to the battery. And, the rest of the electrics is connected to the charger but not to the battery. Does the battery charge when hooked up ? or only when driving ? Kris |

It's not a Westfalia as far as I know, not actually sure who the conversion was done by. As far as I can tell it charges while it's on hookup, or at least that's what i'm taking from the leisure battery charger display...What would be the best way to test?

Measure voltage when hooked up and when not hooked up. in the first case it should be higher (13,8 - 14V)
And further: trace cables and make a drawing of it. |

I would do it the other way connect a meter to the bat check the voltage then switch the mains on. Just in case there is no load on the bat as it could give you a high false reading.
