Hi, 2010 Caravelle Executive 5.1 with bi-turbo 180 engine, 97,500 miles.....is this a ‘safe buy’? Bi turbo unit replaced recently. Trader will have no idea if it’s ‘drinking’ engine oil. Trade sale. Does the fact it’s reached 97,500 miles mean it’s survived the early Pierburg EGR issue? Thanks for any input.....

I have doubts about recommending any VW as a "safe buy", and one with that mileage will be sure to have at least some issues (possibly minor).

NB I currently own 3 VAG vehicles, but I expect some issues with long term ownership.
