The pic shows where our local tyre fitters
lifted our T5 in order to fit new tyres.

They used trolley jacks however.
Tyre fitters rarely, if ever, lift on jacking points.

They tell me if you use a trolley jack on jacking point
you run the risk that the trolley jack will stay still,
and the pinch / jacking point will bend.

Not nice

I've used a trolley jack on mine a few times when working on it, and the jack(on wheels, on concrete) always moves

Me too, hundreds of times. I reckon there is more chance of a jack slipping off if the wheels don't move than any pinching. You do have to careful that the jack saddle is only on the jacking point so no part of it is touching the sill where it could mark it.

I don't know if Yardie and T5 TDi
are telling me I'm wrong. or
telling they have been lucky :o)
or, perhaps, I've been unlucky :-(

Not that it matters much either way.

Many years ago, some smart boffin
wrote a Law that explains
what goes on when your cill
pulls your jack forward.

An amusing explanation
of what goes on when you
apply a force to summat here.
