Hi all, New to this forum and looking for help. I have recently purchased a 09 1.9 T5 which seems to be over cooling.I collected it from Brighton and drove it 3 hours back to poole dorset and the temperature guage diddnt move the whole way back. I changed the thermostat (3times) and the two temperature sensors with no joy.
I did get stuck in traffic driving home from work and the guage moved up to 1/4 but as soon as I got on the duel carrigway it dropped back off the guage. Has anyone had any thing similar to this? Thanks |

Welcome. Does the heater get nice and hot after half an hour or so as normal. Any other symptoms like coolant loss, pressure in the bottle, fans staying on etc?

Have you tested your thermostat by placing it in a saucepan of cold water and heating and cooling the water on a stove a few times to check whether it was opening & closing appropriately ?
