I hope I am posting in the right place.

I live in Northern Canada and my partner and I are planning on driving south for the winter (Central America is our final destination) to avoid the already ridiculously cold weather (-30c). My main concern during this trip is that my 1995 Mk1 LT28 2.4TD will inevitably have some sort of mechanical issue. So my mission for the duration of the trip will be to service the crap out of the D24tic engine and make sure everything is well lubed, timed, safe and maintained in order to avoid as much trouble as possible.

This is where your help comes in.

I have searched everywhere for manuals that would match my vehicle. I am unsure how much the models changed between the 1980-90s and which manual will suit my needs.
I know it will be near impossible to find the manual for my exact vehicle, but are other manuals close enough that it shouldn't matter?

For example: (These are manuals posted on Brick-Yard)

Will the 1982 2.4 Diesel engine shop manual be a good source of information or has everything changed that it makes it irrelevant?

Same thing for the 83' running gear manual or the VW Florida manual?

Can I use the Volvo D25tic engine manual even though it is a different vehicle?

Lastly, do any of you have handy maintenance checklists you like to complete in order to make sure your LT is in tip top shape?

I have already changed all the liquids and filters, but is there anything else that is less obvious?
I am a handy guy and have done a lot of my own mechanical work before, but this vehicle is a whole different ball game.

Any feed back would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Er have a look at the top of the page in the Tech  Section, first 3 topics.
Also new member please read in chat.

Will be uploading a new manual later but it won't cover the diesel engine.

Thanks Andy,

I did look at all the manuals currently on this Tech Section of the forum regarding Lt Mk1 but nothing goes as late as 1995. All the manuals seem to end around 88'. Thus the reason for my post asking for clarification.

Awesome! I was worried that I would be stuck up shit creek without a paddle.

I grabbed the new 87' Haynes manual that Andy put up and also downloaded the 86' Turbo Diesel manual for the engine. I hope that the D24 turbo intercooled engine (ACL) I have is not too different from the older TD DV engine.

I am hoping between these manuals that I should have most my bases covered.

I just have to say praise jeebus for this site and you kind people. My life and my van would have been miserable wrecks without you folks.

As for the adVANture, I am hoping to avoid most huge mountain passes, but I will have to drive through the Canadian Rockies to get out of the Yukon. She seemed to handle the mountain pass alright on my way up but I will update you on my progress!
