Evening all.Big smile

I'm Mark, and I've just bought my 1st T3. It's a bit of a project but nowt too drastic.

I used to have a '65 Westy SO42 but sold it in 2008 to pay for our wedding. Now in the process of getting divorced so thought it best I bought another bus. I have a 3yr old boy who is fanatical about dubs, especially buses, and this is for the both of us to head off on "adventures in the wedgie" as he puts it! LOL

It's a German import '85 diesel high top Westfalia with Mosaik fittings, Westfalia comfort seats with captain bases. Needs a few bits of welding, and the cylinder head is cracked so replacing the engine with a JX for now. Trying to get it in a useable condition before the summer is out.

Will put some pics in the High Top section.

Cheers, Mark

Evening AKW.

Thank you, much appreciated. I'm currently sat in it after breaking out the t cut and polish. Bit premature maybe but for the while it's all I can do. Going to pick up a JX on Sunday to replace the failed CS. Cool

Ah, I remember those first days with a pot of polish Heart

Needs a bit more than a t-cut now... Nuke

Are you popping in a used JX or a proper reckoned one?

They're nice little engines when set right.

Fond memories eh? LOL

It needed freshening up as its been parked up a while before I bought it, and it looks drab.
Ideally it wants a full respray but that can wait. It has been done before at some point, well, a quick blow over.
Need to do some sill repairs, and also around the bottom of the sliding window frame, maybe on the front panel too below the lower grille. Then there's window rubbers etc.

I've bought a good used JX from a T3 as the head is cracked on my CS hence the change.
My budget wouldn't stretch to a new/recon unit so opted for used. Hopefully it'll go in easy enough

He says with fingers crossed! Might need to be picking people's brains.

Hoping to get away in it late summer with my little boy Cool
then do it as a rolling repair/resto/ tidy up.
