Looking to see what folks are running on their LT's (tyre wise)
My beastie requires 4 new tyres, and I was just wondering what folks favour, (mine has a different tyre type on each corner - all shot) I was looking at Continentals but I could be swayed in a good argument. Do folks run summer tyres? or all season tyres? Rgds The Noo.

I use black tyres, I have no idea what they are, other than the correct rating.
Most of our weather is 'winter' ie cold, but I tend to look at the noise rating.

hi heritage. i changed from 185.14 to 195x14,not had any probs,i got michs not cheap,but i'd run them on hgv,force of habit i suppose,can't comment on excessive noise,the radio drowns everything out.perhaps you should be guided by gross vehicle weight,check the hand book,remember they help keep you on the road.as for winter/summer use,i didn't give it a thought, the roads are shite anyway.Have fun

I just bought a set of alu wheels from a Ford Transit and installed them on my LT. The wheels are 15x6,5 ET35 so now it is much easier to find correct load rated tires. I found them on the net and payed 90£
Correct ET for the LT is 51 by the way. Transit Custom and some of the "Normal" Transit with front wheel drive has the right ET |

It's the offset of the wheel when bolted to the hub relative to the actual centreline of the wheel in milimetres, in other words it makes the wheel sit further out or in and can alter clearance between the wheel rim and calipers/suspension etc so be careful. http://www.driverstechnology.co.uk/wheel-offset.htm

I missed this post when looking at tyres and getting confused last week, so I posted a question in the other LT tech section.
It seems these size wheels are fairly old now, so whilst its still generally easy enough to get tyres (well is wasn't after my blow out on the motorway halfway to Wales last summer at 5pm on a Saturday!) range selection is limited. 16's from a transit seems like a good alternative. With a freshly painted WW2 Green painted LT35e I'm looking to get some off-road tyres. Has anyone any experience of this? Is the noise factor really valid when sitting on top of a Diesel 2.4 straight 6 tractor sounding lump? I guess the fuel efficiency is a little lower (anyone know how much?). I think they will look great and get me across dem boggy fields nicely tho! Alas no off road 14's appear to be on the market here so new 15 wheels required.

I bought these for mine and love them.
Goodyear Cargo Vector 2the Cargo Vector 2 185R14C 102/100Q (8PR, V1, M+S) is a tyre suited for poor weather conditions. Great steering responsiveness in all circumstances; The longitudinal grooves are strategically positioned on the outboard shoulder blocks for better cornering stability and virtually no noise pollution. 3D sipes scattered across the tread help increase the level of grip on snow, ice and wet roads.
