Hi all
Site newbie here
I've read loads of helpful posts on here so I've signed up and as always need some advice (hope this is the right section).
My beloved t5 1.9 knocks a bit when you drive slow in 1st or 2nd gear. It happens when you accelerate and then let off the pedal for engine braking.
It feels the engine is moving and you get a thud.
It feels more apparent on the drivers side.
I have replaced the drivers side driveshaft and stub because it was worn and making a noise.
The drivers side front wish bone rear bush also replaced
Any advice please let me know
Thanks

It sounds like an engine mounting or possibly a top strut mounting.  I don't know if the 1.9's have an engine stabiliser bar at the back of the engine, if so that would be worth looking at first.

If you know an MOT place that has the one man opererated system you could pay them to give it a good hydraulic shake.  That sometimes shows up odd things (and misses others!)

Thanks for the reply
I did my top mount bearings when I lowered it about 1000 miles ago
It feels like the engine is jumping about a bit.
It's hard to see when your on your back.
I didn't fancy getting the misses to rev it while I laid under it on stands.
The lower the gear the less you notice it.
You feel it most with engine braking
Are engine mounting's common on these?

Any chance the passenger side driveshaft splines are on the way out ?

IIRC some of the bushes on the front control arms are also known to wear out.
